Kiss and Def Leppard 2014 Summer Tour Announced

Kiss and Def Leppard have teamed up to share the stage at 40 venues across North America this summer, beginning June 23 in West Valley City, Utah and wrapping up on August 31st in Woodlands, TX  at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Tickets go on sale starting Friday.

The groups announced the tour Monday at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.The press conference was streamed live via the Live Nation website.

Everyone got more serious when they spoke of the charitable aspect of the tour. Simmons explained that much like Kiss’ last stateside trek, a dollar from each ticket will be donated to various wounded warrior organizations, to support “our proud military, who make freedom possible. " Those organizations includes the USO, Hire a Hero, Project Resiliency/The Raven Drum Foundation, and The Augusta Warrior Project. "Politicians fart through their mouth," Simons says. "Only the military makes freedom possible." Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott explained that the choice was an easy one for Def Leppard as well, seeing as how “we’ve got our own wounded warrior here,”  referencing drummer Rick Allen, who famously lost an arm in a 1984 car crash.

One or more veterans will also be hired to work on the tour as part of the “Hiring Our Heroes’ campaign, which Kiss previously supported on their 2012 tour.
